Tot
Shabbat
Tot Shabbat is a unique program that has become quite popular in recent years. Enjoy our special monthly Tot Shabbat services, which are designed specifically for families with very young children. Your family will participate together singing Shabbat songs and creating fun crafts.
With short, child-oriented services led by Rabbi David Castiglione or Cantor Lori Frank, Tot Shabbat is typically followed by a family-friendly Adat Shabbat dinner. There is no charge to attend Tot Shabbat, but reservations and donations to cover the cost of dinner are requested.
Tot Shabbat is a great way to introduce your child to the joy and beauty of Shabbat, and to meet other families with young children.

Parent Committee
When it comes to taking care of your child’s needs, we strongly believe that the staff of Ganon Gil is an equal partner with you. We encourage active parent participation and feedback. This creates a positive and ever-lasting impact on your child. There is a direct and on-going link between parents, children, teachers and the environment.
We believe that that within this circle, critical learning and skills development take place.
We have lots of fantastic events planned for the school year, but none of them will work without your help. Kids love it when their parents are involved in their school.
Please spend a few minutes perusing our Parent Committee programs below and choose which ways you would like to be involved with making Ganon Gil a premiere Jewish preschool.

Summer
Camp
Our summer program, emphasizes the simple joys of summer with lots of time for: water play, gardening, cooking, outdoor projects and child-directed exploration of our multi-dimensional play areas and gardens.
The staff is comprised of Ganon Gil’s professional, regular-school year teachers. Our camp programs are sun-safe, with ample shade and conscientious application of sunscreen. Scheduling options are very flexible and designed to accommodate the diverse needs of families.

Intergenerational
Reading Program
A truly unique aspect of enrollment at our early childhood center is that we are part of a larger organization whose members take an active interest in the well being and success of our school. Sisterhood is an auxiliary group that provides us with intergenerational volunteers, many of whom have a background in education, for a magical story time with the highest quality children’s literature.

The Ganon Gil
Garden
The Ganon Gil garden provides an outdoor enrichment experience that incorporates science, tikkun olam (finish the world) as well as giving children a beginning opportunity to learn about consuming locally grown organic food. Children water, weed, plant and pick almost daily. The harvest is shared with the parents and Temple congregants and donations are dedicated to furthering the program. Teenagers often complete scouting or Bar/Bat Mitzvah projects working in this area, so it also offers families a chance to join in the ongoing improvement of the space.

Physical
Education
Playball San Diego is a weekly enrichment program that gets children smiling and moving instantaneously. Coach Lara Gillman has a wide variety of equipment she uses to engage children in playful fitness activities. A fun time is truly had by all each time she comes!
